Welcome to Nashville Family Dogs, where we love your furry friends and care for them like they're our very own family. We specialize in balance behavioral training. If your dog is struggling with impulse control, reactivity, excessive barking, lack of recall, or has anxiety- we can help!
Let’s Work Together
Nashville Family dog weekly Training for an adult dog. First session is around 90-minutes and the following sessions are approximately 50 minutes or as-needed for your dog. The curriculum is customized for your dog’s needs and builds upon what we learn week-by-week. It’s imperative that if you choose this option you are available to commit to daily at-homework that you’ll conduct with your doggies. This is the repetition and consistency to ensure they understand and comprehend what they are learning. 7-weeks is the starting point and may be sufficient for your dog’s needs, however, we are happy to add on additional sessions as needed to reach the goals you have for your dogs and your family.
7 Days of Boarding & Training with behavioral focus on drills that give your dog the tools to better communicate with you. Impulse control, holding positions of calm, and building confidence are primary areas of focus in this program. Each 7-day Board & Train is customized for your dog’s needs. View this as a ‘jump start’ that will refresh and/or introduce these new skills to your dog. At the end of this program you will have a 90-minute take home lesson with a week’s worth of at-home drills that are pivotal for that take-home week to show your dog that the new rules apply at home. After the take-home week the trainer will come back to your home and you’ll be able to fine-tune the skills you’ve established with your dog.
Once completed, your dog is eligible to attend the Nashville Family Dogs Training Classes for their entire life. These classes help your dog with structured socialization and refreshing the skills they learned in their initial program.
14 Days of Boarding & Training with behavioral focus on drills that give your dog the tools to better communicate with you. Impulse control, holding positions of calm, and building confidence are primary areas of focus in this program. Each 14-day Board & Train is customized for your dog’s needs. We will focus on drills that have your dog holding SIT, DOWN, PLACE, COME, HEEL, and a correction command (OFF). With 14 days, we also have the option to overlay the drills with a positively-associated ECOLLAR Communication Tool.
At the end of this program you will have a 90-minute take home lesson with a week’s worth of at-home drills that are pivotal for that take-home week to show your dog that the new rules apply at home. After the take-home week the trainer will come back to your home and you’ll be able to fine-tune the skills you’ve established with your dog.

Puppy At-Home Sessions are focused on helping you establish the boundaries and skills to set your puppy up for success. We’ll establish a Potty Training Schedule, Feeding schedule, and Training calendar to support the goals you have for your puppy. Puppies are sponges and soak up all of their environment. It’s imperative to introduce your puppy to all the different stimuli that will be a part of your/their lives (ex: children, water, loud noises, grooming). The curriculum builds week on week and the at-home sessions you complete with your puppy is the true key to their success.
At the end of this session your puppy will have a SIT, DOWN, PLACE, COME, HEEL, and OFF (correction command). At graduation. your puppy will be eligible for the Nashville Family Dogs Training Classes that are available to them for their entire life.

Nashville Family Dogs is such a gem! We can not express how much we appreciate Emily and all she does, not only for our fur monster, Betty, but for all dogs in Nashville. Upon the possible mistake of adopting our puppy (after a 3rd margarita), we went down the rabbit hole of "what the hell did we do and what's next?". We met Emily to help guide us and train our crazy dog. The results were stellar. Fast forward about a year, we were working all over the place and started placing Betty in a downtown Nashville dog daycare (to remain nameless, but it's a public place). The rate was somewhat hard to digest at first, but we wanted our puppy to have some good experiences interacting with other dogs and not be stuck at home by herself all day. This was a below-average experience and the people working there really know nothing about dogs. Our Aussie-shepard-pit-mix is full of energy and wants to play. They expelled her for barking too much. And hence Emily came to the rescue offering some weekly doggy play dates, additional training sessions, and even boarding. Overall we can not be happier with Nashville Family Dogs and Emily! We're so grateful.

We started working with Emily when we first brought home our puppy Pony, and he quickly learned the basics — walking on a leash, potty training, and obedience. Emily is super knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about what she does.
